Summary
It is 2153. The crew of the starship Enterprise are engaging in the third year of their mission under the command of Captain Jonathan Archer. The Vulcans remain suspicious of human activities. The Andorians afford a grudging respect. Klingon relations continued to be strained. But while the political landscape is familiar, the experiences of the crew of the Enterprise have had a significant effect on them. Jonathan Archer has established himself as a firm and capable commander who will not shy away from doing whatever is necessary to complete a mission. Still suffering from Pa'nar syndrome, contracted by indulging in the frowned-upon practice of mind-melding, Vulcan science officer T'Pol now struggles to contain her emotions. Trip Tucker's brushes with male pregnancy, near-death experiences, and numerous engineering catastrophes have honed him into possibly the finest engineer in Starfleet, and given him the confidence to speak his mind, even when diplomacy may be a better solution
